everything old is new again.

shocked, yet pleasantly surprised, to find that blogspot is still around in this frantic year of 2026.

havent been on here in a decade and a half some change which obviously means a lot has changed.


i'm still in jacksonville primarily djing for a living. been in business for myself doing that for as long as i've been off of here. there were some incredible years as well as some years of flying fast not knowing where the days began nor ended.


currently, I dj events, a few nightclubs and bars, weddings and festivals, and i have a livestream called MUSIC DESIGNED TO MOVE YOUR BEHIND on tiktok and twitch. this has brought me closer to the community I serve as well as traveling and meeting more of the world within my craft.

I love it.

no longer just a fan of soul train, i am the chief documentarian for the show and SOULTRAINFANS, once trying to find its place on the internet after the yahoo! years, has now made its viral home on instagram. I inducted the Soul Train brand into the Black Smithsonian in 2011, helped Questlove, Ericka Blount Danois and Nelson George with their books focused on Soul Train

dad passed ten years ago. mom had cancer, is in remission and has remarried to a man that she says "treats [her] as good as [your dad] did."

heavy.

my grandma passed in 2013 and the house by the airport that once belonged to grandma and grandaddy - the house that was one of the constants in my life - is no longer ours.


i came out to myself in 2003, but officially to mom in 2021 after striving for authenticity in my own life.

heavy was that weight, heavier is navigating that world.

of course, music is still THEE constant.


i collect records and try to listen to new things everyweek.


i've made some songs and mixes - most i've never released.


play a lot of my own edits at work - most i've never released nor finished.


this world has me in a weird space and i'm finally getting wise, but i hope i continue to get more time to figure it out.


maybe attempting to blog again will help me where journals and meditation sometimes fall short.

we'll see.
